Portrait of the Duke of York, later King James II (1633-1701) three quarter-length, in a buff coat, breastplate, sash, and a lace jabot, holding a baton, by a cannon, a view to a naval engagement beyond. Bears the inscription 'James Stuart, Duke of York, High Admiral of England' on the top edge.

Attributable to Charles D'Agar (Paris 1669- London 1723). Portrait of Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough (1660-1744). Born Sarah Jennings, she was a childhood friend of Queen Anne. She married John Churchill in 1677. He was later created Duke of Marlborough, partly the result of his success at the Battle of Blenheim, partly the result of his wife's intimacy with Queen Anne.
