Albert Lynch (1851-1912), Suivez moi. Lynch was born in Lima, Peru, of Irish parents. His working life, however, was spent in Paris and Brussels, but, interestingly, this particular work reflects the influence of the English painters of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, especially that of Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones. The model for this work is unknown, but she is pictured in other paintings by Lynch. He died in Paris in 1912. The gilt frame is original. Please click to see detail image.
