George III kneehole desk of harewood, with mahogany crossbanding, boxwood and ebony stringing, bellflower swags and floral marquetry. The design is derived from the pattern for a bureau table, illustrated as plate XLII in the 1762 pattern book by Ince and Mayhew, Universal System of Household Furniture.

The desk has a serpentine front, extending to 47" wide, and serpentine sides of 24" deep. It is 30" high.
